Congratulations

At the 2020 Year 11 Celebration of Excellence held on Friday 6 November, James Lyons was announced as being the Year 11 Sportsman of the Year.  A very well-deserved recognition of James’ achievements across a range of sports.

Student Leadership

At St Augustine’s College we are very fortunate to have some excellent student leaders in the water polo community.  Our Year 11 water polo players were recently invited to submit written expressions of interest for leadership roles.  With the Head of Sport Jonathan Harvey, I was proud to read the written submissions and then listen to the boys speak during an interview.  Their commitment to water polo at the College over a long period of time came through both in the written documents and the interview.

Competition

After 5 weeks of competition, the College has shown itself to be competitive at the highest level of schoolboy water polo against schools in the GPS system.  With Warringah Aquatic Centre being unavailable to us, we have been extremely fortunate to have access to Drummoyne Pool which is a venue for 1^st grade, interstate and international water polo fixtures.

We have three more games this term before a break for the Christmas holidays and games will resume on Saturday 30 January.
