A busy Week 2 for the College with some excellent results in both Basketball and Water Polo against Oakhill and St Josephs respectively. Whilst both Firsts teams were defeated, our junior teams were very competitive and did extremely well. Cricket was unfortunately rained off on most occasions and Rowing are training hard for their upcoming regattas. Although this week has been extremely wet, we are hoping that all sports are able to compete this weekend. Good luck to all teams.
Training
Training is an essential part of any sport or activity. Our coaches plan their training sessions to help the boys improve their skills in whatever field they have committed to. Could I please ask parents to communicate early and clearly with the teams manager, coach or TIC if your son needs to miss a training session. We currently have too many boys missing training/games with an unexplained absence. Numerous sessions with no explanation will result in a Friday detention.
Finlay Morris - Year 7
This year Finlay was a part of the Ryde Hockey premiership winning team in the U13 North Area Junior competition. Unfortunately, he was unable to play in the State Championships which were cancelled due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
This week, Hockey NSW announced the 2021 NSW U15 squad and Finlay has been selected in the squad. An amazing achievement given his newness to the sport and that he turned 13 a week ago.
A huge congratulations to Finlay for this amazing achievement and we wish him the best of luck as he travels on this pathway.
