Offshore Program 2020
There are 11 offshore students caught in China due to the border closure, with some of them accessing online lessons, alone at home, for over 8 months. An Offshore Program was organised to provide overall support to our offshore students in September. Now the offshore students live together, help encourage each other to get up at 5:30am, and together attend online lessons in China.
Thanks to Daniel Yu (2019 graduate) and Ben Rong (2018 graduate). It’s so great to see Saints Old Boys voluntarily participating to offer support and supervision for their ‘younger brothers’ during this unprecedented time. They have not only provided academic support, but also organised after-school curriculum activities such as Debating and Physical gym exercises.
A special ‘Thank you’ to Mr. Cao, the father of Vivian Cao, as a former principal with over 40 years teaching and education experiences, who volunteered to provide overall management to start the Offshore Program.
Our offshore students are thoroughly enjoying their time together in Dongshan, Xiamen, China. See video below from Year 10 Jack Xie – he started his 1st day at Saints in China.
Guardian Activity 2020
For each international student under the age of 18, an Australian guardian is appointed to provide overall support while the student is studying at the College.
In 2020, a particularly difficult year, our guardians have organised different activities with their students, such as sightseeing, beach walking, visiting the zoo, dining out, playing cards and cooking a Chinese banquet etc. Please enjoy the video below which includes photos and short video provided by guardians.
We thank all the guardians for their ongoing support to our International students
