History of sorts on the weekend with the St Augustine’s College First XI making its eagerly awaited entrance into the ISA cricket competition for 2020/21. The side took on St Pius X College at Oxford Falls under grey skies, but play was able to start on time and get the first 50 overs in of the SPX batting innings. Chasing 254 for victory, the drizzle started as soon as the Saints openers faced up and unfortunately only 8 overs were able to be bowled before more heavy rain caused the match to be abandoned. Our Second XI match was also washed out without a ball being bowled.
Next week the Firsts travel to Strathfield to take on St Patrick’s while the Second XI takes on St Spyridon College, while the MWJCA competition commences Round 2 matches.
Good luck, lads!
