Enrolment Process

1. Application submitted online (by closing date)
2. Applicants shortlisted for interview
3. Enrolment interviews conducted
4. Enrolment offers to successful applicants
5. Acceptance of offer

Applications submitted by closing date

Applications for enrolment are to be submitted online prior to the application closing date (two years prior to the requested entry year).

Applicants shortlisted for interview

After the application closing date, applicants are shortlisted for enrolment interviews. Due to a high demand for places, not all applicants may be offered an enrolment interview.

Enrolment interviews

Enrolment interviews are held in Term 2, following the application closing date. If a first-round interview cannot be offered, parents will be notified and their son’s application will remain on the waiting list.

Enrolment offers

Offers of enrolment are prioritised in accordance with our Enrolment Policy. Parents will be notified if an enrolment offer can be made when all first-round interviews are completed. An enrolment interview does not guarantee an offer of enrolment. Applicants who are not offered enrolment following an interview will remain on the waiting list.

Acceptance of offer

Enrolment offers are valid for 14 days. The enrolment offer must be signed and returned by the specified date and an enrolment fee of $1,800 ($1,200 siblings) is payable to secure the position. The enrolment fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

Further enrolment interviews may be offered subject to availability.

Preparing for the first day of school

A Parent Information Evening, Year 5 Orientation Day, Year 7 Orientation Day and Year 7 Placement Test are held in Terms 3 and 4 prior to commencement, to ensure families experience a smooth transition into College life.

Year 5 Memorandum of Understanding between the College and the Broken Bay Diocese

It is important that all prospective families understand there is currently a Memorandum of Understanding in place between the College and the Diocese of Broken Bay that limits the Year 5 intake to 50 students from the local Catholic systemic primary schools. Additional places will be offered at the discretion of the Principal.

Bursary Program

The College considers applications for the Bursary Program where a family is in need or disadvantaged and where financial hardship precludes a family from paying full fees.

Eligibility

Applications for financial assistance are means-tested and assessed against the need of other bursary applicants. Bursaries are subject to review each year.

The Bursary Program is open to applicants from Year 7 to Year 12. Bursaries are not available for students in Year 5 and Year 6.

Bursary application closing date

Year 7 applicants

Bursary applications for Year 7 close two years prior to the requested entry year (two weeks after Open Day). It is the same closing date as for enrolment applications for the same entry year.

Years 8 – 12 applicants

Bursary applications for new students in Year 8 to 12 must be submitted at the same time as the enrolment application.

A family who has already received an offer of a place is deemed, on financial grounds, to be ineligible for financial assistance unless a significant change of circumstances can be demonstrated.

FAQ's

FAQ's

Is there an advantage to submitting an application as early as possible after birth?

All applicants have up until the closing date to submit an Application for Enrolment and priority isn't given based on the date of receipt. However, late applications will not be given the same priority as applications received on time.

You are welcome to submit an application at any time after your son's birth. While an early application doesn't affect enrolment priority, it provides parents with peace of mind that the application has been made. We will contact you two years prior to the requested entry year to request further details.

Does St Augustine’s College offer scholarships?

No, we do not offer scholarships at this time.

I have missed the closing date for enrolment applications. Can I still submit an application?

Yes, late applications are accepted for our waiting list.

My son is not Catholic, can we still apply?

Yes, all students are welcome. Please refer to the College’s Enrolment Policy for information regarding enrolment offer priority considerations.

I printed and completed a hard copy of the Enrolment for Application but there is now an online form. Can I still submit the paper application or do I need to complete the details again online?

No, all Applications for Enrolment submitted after March 2018 must be submitted using the online form. Please contact the Registrar if assistance is required: 9938 8200.
